Why has my solicitor sent a bill for an accident claim I had months or even years ago? It doesn't seem to be asking me to pay anything?

This could be because they are concerned that they have overcharged you, and are trying to limit the chances of you successfully applying for a refund.

As a result of recent court decisions it has become clear that many people involved in accident claims since 2013 have been overcharged. It's not just us saying that - the story has recently been covered in the Daily Mirror, The Sun, and the Daily Mail.

The time limits for applying for a refund start from the date you receive your bill and can be as short as one month, so if you have received a bill from your former solicitor that you were not expecting, and that doesn't seem to be asking you to pay anything but just sets out what you have already paid, there is a good chance that this is an attempt to stop you from claiming any refund.
