The two firms at the forefront of claims under the Solicitors Act 1974 have now joined forces.
Mark Carlisle, founder of the Checkmylegalfees.com brand, joined JG Solicitors Limited as a consultant on 12th June. Mark has worked in the background in an advisory capacity for many of James Green's cases from the seminal Court of Appeal decision in Herbert v H H Law Ltd [2019] EWCA Civ 527 (03 April 2019) to last year's Supreme Court victory in Oakwood Solicitors Ltd v Menzies [2024] UKSC 34 (23 October 2024), and last week's Turner v Coupland Cavendish Ltd [2025] EWHC 1605 (KB) (26 June 2025).
The combined team will provide unparalleled expertise to clients in all areas of the law who have concerns that they may have been overcharged by their solicitors, as well as more traditional "costs services" to members of the public.
