SDT strikes off solicitor for practising while bankrupt and not repaying £8,000 loan from vulnerable client

Not directly related to legal fees but this story is worth a mention in any event. Although the solicitor was quite rightly struck off, the really quite astonishing aspect is that in taking and then failing to repay a loan of £8,250 from a client who was "a vulnerable elderly person, of limited means" the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal "could not find the solicitor had acted with a lack of integrity".
